years.

Old barns
are becoming uneconomical to use and deteriorating. Gary (who grew up on
a farm) painted these old places on his days off, just for the cost of
the paint. Hearing this, I suggested that he move his practice to a barn.
His face lit up, and the journey began. After many false starts we found
the old Busche bank barn within the city limits of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Busche's remaining family jumped at the chance to preserve it. |

Loft
in Atlanta. David was trained in New York and enjoyed the simple
appeal of the loft apartments he had seen. The office he was choosing to
leave was spacious and had beautiful views of nature. I found it frightening
to try and give him a new special space in a building he had purchased
in another part of town. Besides being much smaller it let in little light. |

Joe
is on the leading edge of dental technology and treatment and needed
an office that reflected this. He and a podiatrist joined forces on the
new building as they had before. A beautiful wooded lot raised above the
surrounding area was purchased and allowed their building to overlook the
countryside. Large stones are quarried in the area which can be seen bordering
their
property. Each one approaches the size of a small car. |

In
Wichita, Kansas Linda found a piece of land to build on that had been
used as a farm in the past. |
 |
Our Manhattan,
NYC residence started with a dilapidated 300 sq.ft unit. The
changes are dramatic and prompted a feature in the NY Times. |
 |
Our Santa
Barbara residence needed much reconstruction after twenty years as
rental property.
